This site now takes wmv, avi and mpeg movies. When you upload EdTube will transcode your movie file into flash .flv. The transcoding can take a while.

On the subject of thumbnails. EdgeTube will create a thumbnail from your uploaded movie file. An embed movie, from sites such as YouTube, will require you to upload a thumbnail image. If you have permission you can also right click a YouTube thumbnail and then go to "properties", you can copy paste the image url into the "URL for remote thumbnail" found on EdgeTube's upload page. This will download the graphic to our archives. You can also do this for images that are placed on your website.
